Heat pumps provide heat by extracting it from the outside air. With existing technology, as the outside air gets colder, the heating capacity of a conventional heat pump is significantly reduced. Because of this, heat pumps used to be strictly a mild-climate heating solution. With TOSOT Ultra Heat technology, our Ultra Heat pumps recover wasted energy from the refrigerant as it returns to the outdoor unit and re-inject it into the compressor, resulting in a significant increase in heat output without the penalty of increasing electricity consumption.
